I will not give up until the day I come to the site and it is no longer here.
Too many good fics have met the fate of incompleteness, while others have been drowned in the sea of crap that is FF.net. I must believe that Mark will return to us.

Mark is a genius!
Even if not a single more chapter is ever going to show up that fiction has still very good chances of forever remaining my favourite work of fiction and literary source of happiness and joy
Though my greedy soul will always remain longing for another huge piece of heaven

Just dropping by to see if there's been an update, I refuse to give up until it's been five years between postings.

The reporter for The Globe and Mail has been there since 1998, according to his website's "Author" section.
If you look at our Mark's update from May 8, 2005, he said that he was working for a small company that installed security systems.

Is anyone besides me wondering if our Mark is the same Mark who wrote "The New Cold War" and is doing such brilliant reporting on the crisis in Thailand for The Globe and Mail?
The spell their names the same, are both from Canada and look sort of alike based on profile pics.
If so then that would be a darn good reason for the long gap, being a foreign corespondent and all.

Ah, still no update huh? I'm one of those that's been checking in every so often for the last few years. I tend to come back in six-month intervals...
Crossing my fingers that there'll be an update by the next time I come back. :)

Mark has deserted us. Ye of Little Faith, bow down before Me!
...or, y'know... stuff.
I also check here every now and then, though it's become so much of a habit that I'm not even bothered by the lack of update anymore.

I too usually check several times weekly.
Though that we never get any response on the guestbook from Mark or an update of the webpage is sad. Though a new chapter would be great, a sign that we fans haven't been forgotten altogether would be nice.

Well, this is by far then longest the author has gone without an update. Of course, I've seen a fic come back from the dead before (Hearts of Ice, which had a 10-year wait time on it)
I feel that as long as the author is around, there lies the possibility that this will be finished.

As far as I remember, this is not the biggest gap between updates. I think it was chpater 22 with a 2-year gap who got the record.
I'll keep waiting for a little bit more before burying it.

"He isn't responding to email either. I sent him one nearly two months ago, and no reply.
I guess the story's been abandoned. "
If this is true, I'll be seriously sad. Love this story. And it isn't even 2015 yet. Anyway, I hope he is just not checking his emails. Shame I'm most likely wrong.

Well this is the longest gap between updates so far... 17 months. So who knows, could be tomorrow could be another year.
I'm just hoping Mark posts a status update inbetween.
