I can't wait till the next update. I am also lookingforward to the next story! Mark has already had 'visions' of this where "Ranko" goes back with Mina and Rei in toe. I'd have to look back but Nabiki and I think Kuno had them while they were mucking about with the tower/eye thingy. I'm really drawn in and Mark is doing a great job!

This is simply the best fanfic around nowadays that I trust will be eventually finished.

I sincerily hope Mr. Mark posts a way for us fans to help out in any way possible as I want to put my effort where my mouth is.

And while I re-iterate my humble request that a humble (hopefully happy) ending is better than no ending. I still trust Mr. Mark to deliver.

I believe and mostly hope that Clear day will end in 2 to 4 more chapters and that an epilogue will finish all lose ends in the Shadow Chronicles multi-volume saga.

Honor to whom honor deserves, and Mr. Mark does deserve a lot for doing this for us and being up front about it and being the kind of guy who would and does tell us clearly if he'll finish and a when if there is one.

Respectfully
Destrona

Yo. Nice to see the story still creaking along... but... if ya noticed, on chapter 17 of "Doors Best Left Unopened" the author's notes at the bottom says there'll be a wrapping up, right? But that was written in 1999! D:

Like the other dude posted, it'd suck if you, as a reader, expired... for want of a better word... before he picked up the threads of that story too.

I musta read every single chapter on this page like 20 times. AT LEAST. We loves ya Mark but some of us are getting old x_x

Wow... I thought this story died a long time ago. I just recently rediscovered it, and I must say, it is everything I remember and more.... Good job, keep up the good work.

Also talking to Daniel about Wheel of Time. Robert's Cowriter, his wife, is the one who is giving over the notes to the other writer, and i doubt she would let someone else ruin her husbands great work or take it in an unintended direction without a Serious amount of consideration to the mechanics of the story.
What really will be the kick is the style of the last book because reproducing someone else's style of writing especially for an entire book is just not easy and probably wont be even attempted, which is a shame because it was as much Robert Jordan's Style of writing as it was the tale being told which made his book so great.

But i dont doubt that it will still be shaped into a suitable ending AND a great homage to Robert and his work.

Glad to see you made it back from Vacation. Now for me to return to fretting about my friends living in the Hurricane paths. This is one of the busiest years I've seen so far.

LOL and so the comments asking about completion have begun. As I said even if you need another 2 years your last post has made it so we need at least an update to see how you are doing. No rush on the story though at least not by most from what I see. And I hope you haven't ended up in the path of any of this hurricane mess.

Yo Neko,

Did you ask permission from Mark to host his fanfiction? Since he already has his own site for them. I'm just curious.

You should ask first prior to hosting

Part2:

But the Ranma section is not very huge and this approach would fail or drive me nuts were I going to apply it to all the others with tens or hundreds of thousand stories. So I don't even try anymore.

And even then fanfiction net holds only a fragment of the available fiction.

The awards for good Ranma fiction and sites that offered reviews like Taleswapper were a great aid in limiting the searchspace, but I am not aware of where I should look nowadays to find good recommodations.

I hate to think of all the great stories I will just never find. The idea of never having found my all times favourite fanfiction, The Shadow Chronicles, sends ripples of true horror through my heart still whenever it appears in my mindscape during my worst nightmares.

How do you people go searching for good fiction?

Part 1: I heavily agree with Melchior's no. 2.

There are lots of gems scattered around you would never see sparkling (And some shine! Oh do they shine!) if you reject unfinished stories and fragments from your reading adventures.

That said, I think finding the jewels among fanfiction is a tough problem anyway.

The most successful way to find the good ones has been to me by looking at the link lists and recommendations by authors I already know I love to read.

As my love for fanfiction began with Ranma, I mined for treasures in Rakhals's archive and most of the stories I still love today I know either from that repository of historical documents or from seeking the Web-sites of the stories I found there and looking at the links for fanfiction these authors liked.

fanfiction net I found much later and the Ranma section there is the only one I regurarily observe. But it is most harder there to find the good ones to me at least. I scan the new titles that appeared since last time and peek at any interesting one, rejecting most right at the first glance of the layout.

I agree with most of the points that you have raised Melchoir. It is in my opinion much better than the previous post (dated: Sat 23, 2008 -- I guess it was just the tone of the post that made me very irate and I had to respond to it. The "Dear Sir".. "curses you soundly"...). I was bitter when Heart of Ice got postpone for years and it still is. Other authors just flat out quit like you said... either they couldn't take the criticisms or praises... OR they left this life.

But hey, at least I have a good story to read, no matter the wait...

Looking forward to Chapter 23...

Thanks for continuing working on the story...
