Harvey's comment made me want to ask if the empty world with Nerima is a sign of the destruction that the people of this cut off world might be expecting of all the other worlds they use to be hyperlinked to. I mean it makes a great opening for a bigger picture story and adventure to continue on after things on this one local sphere get resolved. I have trouble seeing them even getting in contact with the locally accessible deities without new hyperlinks being made even accidentally. Looking forward to the next chapter and I hope IRL won't make it harder to hit the end of summer estimated date.

Very nice additions, well worth the late. It kind of weird seeing your nieces and nephews get older, puts things into perspective somewhat.
It's interesting that the denizens of the Senshi world seem to be under the impression that all the other spheres are gone. Perhaps all the the neighboring planes have already been overrun? I'd have to go back and read everything but I don't think that anyone realizes yet that Ranma is from an alternate reality. That will be an interesting conversation when it happens.

Ganbatte! ^^
Two years... blimey. It's been a while, yeah. I didn't check back as often as some seem to have, but I'm glad I finally came back to look! If I'm still reading Shadow Chronicles in ten years, then so be it. At least I'll be reading Shadow Chronicles in ten years!
Hm, maybe that makes less sense than I thought it did... >>

As a long time reader of your stories, I can honestly say it's been worth the wait for every single chapter. I've already blown through the two most recent ones and will probably re-read them at my leisure once the breakneck imagery in my head dies down.
Everything just works. Thank you for sharing.

Keep up the good work Mark. I enjoy reading your excellent story. Can't wait for the next installment. I just notice some minor errors here and there, but considering the size of the chapters...it can be overlooked.

In response to what J posted... we can still donate. Mark, put up a paypal link :)
Seriously. This is one of the better stories I've had the pleasure of reading, real life books included.

I read your note about how you decided to rework this chapter, as opposed to pushing on, after you reviewed it. I am not sure how different the first cut was, but I definitely think this version is a great piece. It was integrated, well-paced, packed full but not so dense that I got lost, and most of all you slotted in references to past events that helped jolt my memory and prepare me for their connection in this chapter. I mean this especially with reference to the Grim and Ami and Rei's spell-weaving.
To be honest with such a long fic and the time between updates, it gets hard to keep track. Your summaries at the beginning of each chapter were very helpful, but in-chapter referencing is even better.
Anyway, as someone who knows how real-life always conspires to work against leisure plans, I don't fault you at all for the long gaps. I'm simply happy that you don't compromise on your ideals of quality. And that you really are dedicated to finishing this story. A lot of writers quit because they burn out or RL commitments just take over. I guess for me, that makes every update in this story a very special, treasured thing.
But hell yeah, sh!t I can't wait for the next part!! ARGH!! *phew*

Wow, this last chapter has been like... wow...
Okay that's not very expressive. But seriously, suddenly everything's coming together, we get tons of plot advancement and great great action in spades, and nice bits of humour thrown in here and there. The best part about this chapter, aside from the Hiryu Shoten Ha where I actually started to lift my right arm as soon as I realized what Ranma was up to , was all the Usagi parts. I giggled out loud at all of them. It was absolutely delightful.

Loved the newest chapter. All those hints are knitting together so delightfully! I started a re-read because now with all the new info, the little hints are especially tantalizing. The way the weather heralds a certain character is really great...can't believe I didn't notice that before! Thanks again for putting in so much hard work for us. We love the story and love you for it!

Lol, its been a long time and I've been with this story since 2004. You put in a lot a work to this and I among many other fans appreciate it. Its so true that patience is a virtue and often rewarding. Your dedicated work is worth the wait. Thank you

I just have to say, this is one of the best stories I have ever read. Taking the relatively shallow characters and stories of Ranma and Sailor Moon and creating this masterpiece is amazing. I hope you keep writing, and I only wish this wasn't fanfiction so that you could be paid to create such an amazing story.

I hope that the Maidens don't end up seeing that new transform appearance for Sailor Moon. They already have enough trust issues without the accepted decedent of their Patron impersonating her. They might think both are fakes. I wish I had a way to make rewrites easier but I don't know how to attempt that. The team work on destroying what even the Gods in the past hadn't been able to was amazing. I wonder who else noticed it was feeding on not just the people it ate but also seemed to power up from magics that impacted it too. Now I return to the torture of waiting to see what will happen with Peorth. Ranma's knowledge of other worlds still existing may be an unlooked for blessing to the local deities.

Magnificent. Two beautiful chapters full of your usual talent and totally worth the waiting. Besides, last one ended with a clean, nice, unmistakeable victory (something I was missing from last chapters). Now we power down and lay in wait again, one year from now or whenever. We'll be there. Waiting.

I kept refreshing the page until your new announcement showed up -- yes, you have that kind of fan too
I haven't read it yet (just ecstatic that 22's out), but I remembered how long it took you. Once again, thanks Mark!
Of course, this also probably means another 2 years before the next installment X__X I'll try to stay alive until then.
